Ghost On The Canvas

Glen Campbell RIP a career longer than Robert & The Band - I'd love to see his CV -  great guitarist and what a voice - not the right place for this but thought it was worth a mention

  • With some strong contributions the talents of Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Brian Setzer, Rick Nielsen (Cheap Track), Jason Falkner (Jellyfish), Marty Rifkin, Steve Hunter, and Tim Pierce, the album was largely written by Campbell with producer-collaborator Julian Raymond, complemented by contributions from Jakob Dylan, Paul Westerberg (The Replacements), Teddy Thompson and Robert Pollard, with evocative instrumental interludes composed by Roger Manning (Jellyfish)  - no sign of David Foster (!

    • Sorry Cheap Trick not a cheap track!

    • I didn't realize there were so many collaborators on this album. Thank you for enlightening.
I hadn't listened to Glen for many years, then stumbled upon this... what a gem!
  • 'Ghost On The Canvas', phenomenal album, Glen was such a talented guitarist.
My favorite song of his is still 'Wichita Lineman'...one of my all time favorite lyrics is in that song.
..." and I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time..."
So beautiful ...amazing career and life.
  • I am glad you did! Remember listening to him from way back- great voice. Always enjoyed his music.
So sad that he suffered from Alzheimer's- which takes so much away. Everyone knows someone who has endured it or has a family member who has.
Noticed that Robert supports the Alzheimer's Music Project, which is a wonderful thing.
